<div dir="auto">I can do that to verify alernate mode DP. The laptop doesn't want to work with my USB monitor and the monitor complains that it doesn't have an alt mode DP signal. I think most monitors still have VGA, but DVI, HDMI or Display Port are also on most monitors now. Some have all four.
