*Basic Functions*

* *

The Software Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing our
next generation avionics software for an embedded Linux
telecommunications/data communication system.

*Essential Functions:*



§  Responsible for writing software high & low level design documentation
for the system in an avionics environment. **

§  Work with Use Cases to develop application designs using UML tools.**

§  Work with Software development build tools and environment (eclipse,
make)

§  Work with team in an agile development environment (Scrum, EUP, XP)

§  Work with Software source code management (subversion)

§  Software coding standards and code inspections

§  Development primarily in  C++, experience with Boost , JSON

§  Automation of unit test in C++,  with code coverage metrics (lcov, gcov)

§  Embedded application development in the Linux operating system (Ubuntu,
OpenEmbedded, OpenWRT)

§  Strong knowledge of Linux tools and networking

§  Integration of open source software

§  System performance tuning and analysis

§  Development of software infrastructure, threading model. Application
software development in some or areas like fault management, provisioning,
inter-process communications, etc.

§  New software technologies evaluation, analysis and documentation.

§  Concurrent Engineering responsibilities.


*Education / Experience:*

* *

·         BS or MS Degree in Computer Science with 3-5 years of experience
in the telecommunications/ data communications environment.

*Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:***

·         Experience as a Software Engineer developing Linux software and
open source in data communications and telecommunications systems. Strong
upfront design skills coupled with a strong process mind set for quality
(HLD/LLD reviews, coding standards and code inspections).

·         Experience with Linux shell scripting

·         Experience with OOAD and UML patterns

·         Experience integrating open source software.

·         Protocols and internet application technologies including TCP/IP,
JSON,  firewall applications, internet application architectures based on
VOIP & SIP technology and Internet security.

·         Experience with Web Development (JavaScript, JQuery, HTML, CSS)
a plus

·         Experience developing in PHP a plus
