that's why I like using MyPaint. 
there are no dialog boxes if you don't want any. 
When I'm done with it. I use gimp to ad finishing touches to the image. 
As for blender, I'm a total noob. 



If you really want something that's made just for animation I suggest. Synfig Studio  http://www.synfig.org/cms/
it's capable of producing motion picture quality animation.
