[clue] recipe for tonight

I'm using Netgear's WNR3500L router.  You can flash it if you don't like the stock firmware.  The V1 model would work with DD-WRT (I think I remembered that correctly). I had to use TomayoUSB on V2, but maybe DD-WRT will work on it now.  Net gear changed the CPU and didn't change the model.
