Try 2. Hit the wrong key before ready. I've had no problems with xfce
(at 4.6.1-1) on sidux. I don't run it everyday, but it always works.
Have you followed the sidux rules, i.e. only and always dist-upgrade,
never update? dist-upgrade at least every couple of months? If the
answer is no to either, you may have a (partially) broken system.

I've never had any problems running KDE items under xfce4. Sounds like
you have a filesystem issue.

Don't have a clue about touchfreeze. I can find no menu items that won't launch.
