I'm satisfied to use the package installer whenever the package is there 
and it's doable, so there's no reason to go through the exercise for 
audacity.

However, again, this is beyond my normal skillset (needs) but there have 
been a couple times when it would have been useful to know how.  David 
helped me install GPG last winter on one of my shared hosting sites.  
Although I took some notes, his mind was operating in hyperdrive and 
mind at more traditional speed.  Could I do it on my own?  Don't know.

Also, I have found some twitter desktop apps available for win/mac but 
only source code for linux.  I downloaded the sourcecode, but not ready 
to jump on it.  Any takers on Saturday?
