[CLUE-Tech] Has anyone used Dosemu?

I install dosemu-1.2.2-1.i386.rpm on my Mandrake/Linux 9.1 box.  It seems to 
work OK.  I can login to C:\ and read *.txt files with EDIT.  I tried to 
install an old copy of Microsoft QuickBasic 4.5 and freedos locked up.

Can anyone tell me the real perpose of dosemu is.  Is it just a fun little 
thing to remind us of the good old days?  Does it have a real application?  
Can I install a old copy of windows on it?  Any website you know of that have 
info about this?  Thanks to all...
