Oddly enough, you answered your own question.

$ man find

The locate utility is a GNU thing, it doesn't come from traditional UNIX
environs. The slocate utility looks to be a modified locate utility
written by a guy named Kevin Lindsay.

Suse might use xntp instead of rdate, I really have no idea here.
