[CLUE-Tech] Textbase?

Does anyone know of a good, simple, but flexible Linux textbase program?  I've been using AskSam for years, but apparently they have no intention of upgrading their program to Linux.

What i like is having instant access to any word in the text of any record, and not having to necessarily make all records conform to a rigid field structure.  Lately a few articles in the press have called this "data mining" software.
